My brother Edward H. Swanko Jr passed away Saturday. When I noticed he has a smile on the gurney, I knew he was at peace.
I received a call to visit my brother, Something was wrong. “Well, it is Ed. I’ll swing by.” He loved the outdoors. Did not mind practical jokes. I knew he could not be dead. My anger kept tempered by remembering him for who he was.
As I arrived, another Deputy Sheriff’s squad car pulled up, I would park across the street. I noticed the white hearse. The front drive was full. I explained who I was to a Deputy Sheriff while looking to see my brother. I saw my former sister-in-law talking to an investigator. Looking through a window, I saw Ed, It looked like he was smiling.
That smile had me thinking, He must have dreamed, he finally caught a bass bigger than our sisters’s, They love the outdoors too.
