Syria's Civil War Is Another Bad War In The World's Holy Land

by J John Swanko

Syria's rapid deterioration is another civil war in an area a third the size of Saudi Arabia. This is another power grab. Like every war there since the end of WWII.

When the local political establishment's election or other war does not fit their idea of workable the land tosses up another war. Syria, like Libya, helped many combatants in their idea of freedom. Often, their freedom idea, denies everyone else in that country, their idea of freedom. The Annan Plan may not have been the best possible, very workable.

The UN's Security Council could not make Mr. Annon's Plan work because it imposed an outside the country agreement inside a country. While many see Russia offering Syria's president asylum as a permanent fix for Syria, these wars must stop. Pick any war in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Israel, Iraq, an imposed outside plan -has not worked. Those pointing to Lebanon where Syria forced an end of that civil war. Overlook Hezbollah's rise.

Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Israel, and Iraq's land mass has a population of two people per square kilometer. Each war has vast ethnic divides after a peace broke out. The Phonicians are a good example. The rest of the world called them Christians. They ran Lebanon. The world considered Beirut the Middle East's French Rivera. Until Black September. See, they were the minority in a democratic country.

Most expect Egypt, Syria, Libya to follow the Lebanese lesson. So far, they have been wrong because the people were free to elect ethical leaders. The world can only hope, Syria's president expels those he armed for war in Iraq and hold free, fair, ethical elections... The other possibility, A country offers him sanctuary...

Note: Many of those involved in this war claim it is a Holy War. They use the same reasoning as the Crusaders. If they ever bothered to check, God is love. The idea war is always good for any country or region need only look to the the Countries listed above.

Many claim Hezbolla fires rockets for economic reasons. Firing rockets cannot be good for any region, state. Rockets are distructive. Simply test firing rockets, without warning can start a war.
