10/04/2011 Live Oak, FL (People Port)- The newly unemployed are being forced to take skill tests. That test is akin requires test takers to answer with ball point pen and wax paper. All good for Higher education, even those with that degree.
A cheap easy way to to re-train Florida's workforce. Create employees with state-of-the-art skills. Employers, like those seeking jobs, can use a star system. Matching the perfect person to their perfect employer. That is not what it is doing. Most of the test and training do not work properly.
From questions that seek an individual answer and all the answers are the same to answers that pick themselves: (a, sorry -you answered (c. It is brand new. Expect many problems. That is not what I found. The test was not pre-tested. Employers were given sample test. A very good way to weed out (http://real-fake-diploma.co.cc). The various indexes that keep the beanie heads in line were not used or -known. This program was four years in the making.
Well it gets much worse. It is like forcing people to take a test using a ball point pen and wax paper.
"Hey, all my answers were wrong." Complained someone that knew the material well. It is a mess. From an introductory page that did not allow for people that may understand the subject to a list of recommendations that make a skilled reader, and those knowing they need some work to ask, "What are..."
The only conclusion, This test is designed to force those taking the test to enroll in collage. There is a serious lobbying effort taking place that would allow a college's department chair to run your life forever. Many of those directly involved are pursing that effort as a way of proving you learned something in school besides how to party.
This skills test should allow the taker to answer Skinner's famous education quote, Instead it leaves the taker, employer, wondering.

At one point this program was sold as Florida's secret weapon. Those completing the training would want the additional education our institutions of higher learning provide. This article arose after many complaints. I took that skill test myself. Please.
