3/01/11 (People Port) From tiny towns to big cities, those darkened street lamps are back on. Right now it is just a few, lighting our way out of this Great Recession, because firms and governments are innovating.
Even in cities headed into the abysis, are very slowly coming back. Las Vegas looked to be improving. Tourism seems to be coming back, along with local incentives. No shortage of closed shops, empty towns across the South, Southwest, however, you can find convenience stores opening next to shuttered big box stores. Even the smallest towns, where Real Estate sings have replaced the local crop, found Help Wanted signs (majority, sweep-the-lot). Did find a firm looking for an accountant.
People are shy about this recovery's enduringness. Firms are slow to advertise -even help wanted. People are slow to invest in themselves because of uncertainty about our economy. Not once did the word, Washington, surface.
