Mexico Rescues Texas

by J John Swanko

Horrible cold landed on Texas. Hospitals and the like lost power. Power usage breaks all records. Mexico is moving huge amounts of power to Texas to help. The roads around Dallas still tough to navigate and this is Super Bowel weekend.

Texas like most of America is freezing cold. I was driving along, chasing a story, wondering about all the sand Tuesday. Splash, the big truck next to me tossed up a wall of water. I dodged water all night, thought nothing of it. Sure it was cold. I slowed for a truck hauling pipes. Splashed again, The water froze to my wind shield. I pulled off the road, barely seeing the front of my truck. My introduction to this ice event, just outside Dallas.

It was once said, "Not a drop of oil flows anywhere in the world without Texas Technology," This is afterall, the Energy State. Today it will need Mexico's help. Rolling blackout helped, not enough. Texans would have to make due on the power they received. The Super Bowl is in town. No tailgate parties yet, because the parking lot is iced in. Should be clear today. So, should the Interstates.
