07/06/10 (People Port) My last article, The Blowout Preventer's Depth Can Cause Failure, sent more than 20,000 of my readers to watch the marlin being pulled out of that blowout preventer. Thanks. As you may have noticed, I am trying to earn money from this toil.
My recent addition, People Port Background attracts only a few of you, however, way more than use to visit my background pages. My background readers always seem to be the most vocal, that was why I added it. I put the links in the last article from all the push-back. Many locals that understand the web have already spoke, suggesting, that I do not screw this up. Where is your faith.
I had hoped for a day or two of work from BP, told that will not happen by the same route that told me not to export. From BP's PR person conversation, that has already happened (No, I did not get ANY call). Now I am looking at doing most of my publishing on People-Port.com, while keeping a presence here on Yahoo. Not like my other sites, I may simply use Yahoo for one type of news.
You may be experiencing a recession, I am living it. I am also looking at charging a subscription. All you long-time readers know I am very much against that option. I am a business person, so I do look at all the options. I can see web-readers willing to pay and those readers do not want most of you reading.
Some of the bad news, have not heard from any of the newspapers that use to run my articles. Oh, I find something here or there, that helps keep me writing. I am concerned that this economy will not support real news and some type of subscription may be the only long term solution.
Not ever running for office. I never qualify for those SBA loans, government grants and the like.
