There is a mess out in the Gulf. Should not have happened. People Port is pro-drilling, pro-rapid response. The rapid response concept, came from China's work in Cuba. China is drilling for oil on land. So should the United States, until platforms are proved safe.
New drilling has been put on hold until the Oil companies explain, How this happened. Our President is being kind. If BP and Transocean cannot prove they plan and train for these outcomes -for years- they need a much closer look. The reports on what is now wrong, if accurate... Each of the problems are predictable, easily fixed. Welding clamps are not new.
From my article today, we learn our Navy is rapidly bringing change. Let us not stop there. There is a very large pool of oil off Florida's coast, near a military base, environmental and task risk. We can reach it from land, train our military and from those lessons learned, train Big Oil -for a fee.
