Our State Department Is Wrong

Working on another story when I wrote What Is Up At Our State Department . They launched a new concept in nation to nation. It looks a lot like People Port on Yahoo's 360.

That should give me some bragging rights, not at Our State Department. I really tried to find out all the background, could not. This is why it is important to me.

From time to time someone emails me with a business proposal. Most of the time, spam. Every now and then, some work could develop. Most of the time, I respond with a link or two and why I am unable to assist. When needed, I send them to the right agency. Eventually, with luck some trade will develop. It takes a long time for relationships to develop. Having our State Department play gatekeeper, that is 4000 gatekeepers, may slow things down for me.

I hope the State Department's Virtual Student Foreign Service (VSFS) program is a real success. Our State Department should help advance America's interest abroad. Gatekeeping may be needed at some point, for those in VSFS. I am very sure the State Department is up to this challenge, once they recognise the need.
